Stepping in to 2018
Happy New Year from the team.
Over the final months of 2017 we've been busy converting aircraft radios, cleaning and polishing helicopters servicing our ground support equipment and in a week or so we'll be getting together for the first of our pre-season training days. Generally the first training day of the season will include our mandatory training, helicopter handling, airfield health and safety, First Aid, Flight Safety briefs and an update on the forthcoming season. All members of the team undergo the mandatory training.
The airshow circuit is slowly awakening and looking towards the 2018 season with dates and venues being discussed and confirmed. We have a few shows confirmed already, with more in the pipeline.
This year we are aiming to provide greater resilience with our flying display and have more pilots training for their DA (Display Authorisation). It is a condition that all pilots delivering an aerial display are assessed and deemed proficient in their routine by the CAA. All of our crews are volunteers and we have found that we require more DA qualified pilots to ensure that we have the capacity to fulfil our growing commitments.
In addition to the Aerial displays we're also getting increased interest in our static displays which are renowned for their accessibility, we pride ourselves in giving all visitors to our aircraft a personal experience.
2018 is underway - let's hope it's a safe and succesful year.
